Lorenzo Musetti celebrates the arrival of his second child, son Leandro, with partner Veronica Confalonieri

Lorenzo Musetti Welcomes Second Child

Lorenzo Musetti and his partner, Veronica Confalonieri, are celebrating a joyous occasion as they embrace their new role as parents for the second time. The couple welcomed their second son, named Leandro, on November 29, just a year and eight months after the birth of their first child, Ludovico. Musetti, who began dating Confalonieri in 2022, announced the birth through a heartfelt social media post over the weekend, stating,

“Love multiplies.”

Significant Year for Musetti

This year has proven significant for Musetti not only personally but also professionally. He achieved a remarkable feat on the tennis circuit, where he secured 45 wins and broke into the ATP Top 10 for the first time, reaching a career-best rank of World No. 6 in June. Despite making it to three finals, Musetti unfortunately did not manage to clinch a title during the season.

ATP Finals Debut

In a notable year for his career, Musetti made his debut at the ATP Finals. He qualified after the tournament’s World No. 1, Novak Djokovic, withdrew, which gave Musetti the opportunity to compete. Although he did not advance to the semifinals, he managed to secure a win against Alex de Minaur after initially suffering a loss to American Taylor Fritz.

Challenges and Achievements

Looking back, Musetti, who previously won two ATP titles in 2022 in Hamburg and Naples, faced several disappointments in 2024. He finished as runner-up at the Queen’s Club Championship and in Umag, and fell short in the Chengdu Open final against Shang Juncheng. Earlier this year, he was also on the brink of victory in a Masters 1000 event, holding a set lead before Carlos Alcaraz made a comeback to win.

Future Aspirations

Musetti’s impressive performances have kept him competitive, as he reached the semifinals at Wimbledon and made it to the quarterfinals at the US Open this year. The support from his growing family, especially from young Ludovico and now Leandro, is expected to bolster his ambitions for future competitions, fueling his drive for greater success on the court as he aims to transform family joy into athletic achievements.
