London City Lionesses Strengthen Squad Ahead of WSL Debut
In a significant move ahead of their inaugural season in the Women’s Super League (WSL), London City Lionesses have secured the signings of Katie Zelem and Alanna Kennedy from Angel City. This acquisition is part of the club’s strategy to build a competitive squad before their debut in England’s top women’s football division.

Katie Zelem, who previously captained Manchester United for four years, brings a wealth of experience with over 160 appearances for the club. The midfielder expressed her enthusiasm about joining London City, highlighting the excitement in being part of the first independent team in the Barclays WSL.

Zelem stated.
On the other hand, Australian defender Alanna Kennedy joins London City after leaving Manchester City, marking her third club in England. With an impressive 139 caps for her national team, Kennedy has extensive experience both in Australia and the NWSL.
