Cristiano Ronaldo Honored as “Best of All Time”
Cristiano Ronaldo, the celebrated captain of the Portugal national team, was honored with the prestigious title of “Best of All Time” by Liga Portugal on Wednesday. This accolade comes as Ronaldo continues to make headlines as the all-time leading scorer in men’s international football, boasting an impressive total of 141 goals across 223 appearances for his country.
Liga Portugal praised Ronaldo’s exceptional career, stating,
“He has defined an era and left an unforgettable legacy in the realm of football. His work ethic and competitiveness have made him a true icon, surpassing mere statistics.”
Ronaldo’s Gratitude and Recent Achievements
At 40 years old, Ronaldo, who plays for Al Nassr, could not attend the award ceremony in Porto, but he shared his gratitude through a video message.
“Receiving this award for the best player of all time is a tremendous honor for me and my country,”
he expressed. He took the opportunity to extend his thanks to teammates, coaches, and everyone who contributed to his career growth.
Earlier in the week, during a forward-thrusting match against Hungary, Ronaldo also made headlines by becoming the joint-highest goalscorer in World Cup qualifying history, reaching 39 goals after scoring a penalty in Portugal’s thrilling 3-2 victory.

Additionally, Viktor Gyökeres was named the Player of the Year for the Portuguese League for the second consecutive season. The striker, who recently joined Arsenal from Sporting CP, had a remarkable last season, netting 54 goals overall, including 39 in league play.
Reflecting on this achievement, Gyökeres stated,
