Historic Achievement by Jeremy Monga
In a remarkable feat for young talent, Leicester City’s Jeremy Monga etched his name into Championship lore by becoming the youngest player to score in the league’s history. The 16-year-old winger achieved this milestone during a match against Preston North End, despite his team ultimately losing 2-1.
Monga, who is just 16 years and 37 days old, surpassed the previous record set by Jude Bellingham, who was 16 years and 63 days old when he scored for Birmingham City in 2019. Monga’s goal came as a response to an early strike by Preston’s Alfie Devine, but his effort was not enough to secure a draw, as Milutin Osmajic netted the winning goal just five minutes before the final whistle.

The Owls’ supporters were vocal in their protests against club owner Dejphon Chansiri, a situation compounded when Million Manhoef scored for Stoke shortly after the match began.
Manchester City loanee Divin Mubama contributed his second goal of the season in the early stages of the second half, setting the stage for Manhoef to finish the scoreline at 3-0.
