LeBron James Makes NBA History
LeBron James has etched his name in NBA history once again, becoming the first player to participate in 23 consecutive seasons. The milestone was achieved when he took to the court for the Los Angeles Lakers facing the Utah Jazz.
Triumphant Return
At 40 years old, James had to sit out the first 14 games of the current season due to sciatica, but he made a triumphant return, contributing 11 points, 12 assists, and three rebounds during the game, which ended in a 140-126 victory for the Lakers.
Breaking Records
In this impressive outing, James surpassed Vince Carter’s previous record of 22 straight seasons. Additionally, his performance included two three-pointers that propelled him ahead of Reggie Miller on the all-time list for three-pointers made, placing him in sixth position.
Teammate Reactions
Lakers teammate Luka Doncic commented on James’ return to action, stating, “It’s been a long time since he played basketball, so I think for the first game back, he looked amazing. He’s going to keep getting his rhythm and help us a lot.”
In this game, Doncic shone with a game-high 37 points, alongside four steals, 10 assists, and five rebounds.
Team Contributions
Austin Reaves also made a significant contribution with 26 points. For the Jazz, Keyonte George and Lauri Markkanen finished with 34 and 31 points respectively.
