The 41-year-old NBA star found himself in tears when the Cavaliers honored his legendary performance from Game 5 of the 2007 Eastern Conference Finals, showcasing a highlight reel of him scoring 25 consecutive points against the Detroit Pistons.
As the highlights played, which were especially poignant with 7:46 left in the first quarter, James couldn’t hold back his emotions, wiping away tears with a towel.
That memorable game concluded with a narrow victory for the Cavaliers at 109-107 after double overtime, setting the stage for Cleveland’s historic journey to the NBA Finals, where they ultimately claimed the franchise’s first Finals appearance.
