Sarri, who guided Juventus to the Serie A title in 2020, departed from Lazio in March 2024, citing personal reasons for his exit and has been without a managerial position since then. Lazio initially replaced Sarri with Igor Tudor last season. However, Tudor did not continue into the following season, leading the club to appoint Marco Baroni.
