Moses Moody’s Legal Dispute
Moses Moody, the Golden State Warriors shooting guard, is currently involved in a legal dispute with his previous landlord, Amir Tabarrok, who has initiated a lawsuit claiming significant damage occurred during Moody’s tenancy at a San Francisco condo.
Details of the Lawsuit
The suit, which was filed in small claims court this week, suggests that Moody’s mishandling of laundry ventilation led to severe water damage affecting the hardwood floors, walls, ceilings, and carpeting of the unit located in the Mission Bay area.
In addition, the complaint alleges that Moody’s rental of this condo — which began in 2021, the same year he was drafted by the Warriors, and extended until October 2025 at a monthly cost of $6,495 — resulted in damages worth approximately $28,053.90. This total includes issues with electrical switches and window frames, reportedly caused by holes drilled into these surfaces.
However, due to the monetary limits imposed on small claims cases, Tabarrok is seeking $12,500 plus around $870 in unpaid rent.
Moses Moody’s Career and Current Status
Moody, who was the 14th overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, now resides in the Millennium Tower in downtown San Francisco and is currently playing his second season in the NBA, having won a National Championship with the Warriors in his rookie year. This season, he is set to earn $11.57 million under his contract as the Warriors attempt to improve upon a 25-21 record, placing them 8th in the Western Conference.
Expanding Horizons
Moreover, Moody seems to be expanding his horizons in real estate, having completed an internship with Shorenstein Properties in San Francisco and making investments in the tech company Drafted.
The Independent has reached out to representatives for Moody and the Warriors, as well as Tabarrok for further information regarding the lawsuit.
