LA28 Organizing Committee Reaffirms Support for Chairman
In light of recent scrutiny from documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, the LA28 organizing committee has reaffirmed its support for chairman Casey Wasserman. After a meeting of the executive committee on Wednesday, it was confirmed that Wasserman’s position remains secure.
While he has not been implicated in any illegal activities involving Epstein, past government records from 2003 have surfaced, showing that Wasserman engaged in flirtatious correspondence with Ghislaine Maxwell, a figure later accused of assisting Epstein in his abuse of young women.
Independent Legal Review
The LA28 organization announced that it enlisted the services of an independent legal firm to thoroughly examine Wasserman’s previous communications with Epstein and Maxwell. Their findings indicate that these interactions align with what has already been publicly disclosed.
Official Statement from the Executive Committee
The executive committee noted in its official statement, “Our review confirms that Mr. Wasserman’s past relationship with Epstein and Maxwell was limited to what is already known. Furthermore, given his exemplary leadership during the past decade, we believe Mr. Wasserman is well-suited to continue his role in overseeing the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games and ensuring their safety and success.”
