Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall Joins Everton from Chelsea for £25 Million

Everton Signs Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

In a significant move for both clubs, Everton has officially acquired midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Chelsea on a five-year contract. The transfer was confirmed on Monday, with the initial fee set at £25 million, although Chelsea had initially valued the player at £30 million, the sum they paid Leicester City just a year prior.

Dewsbury-Hall’s Enthusiasm

Dewsbury-Hall expressed his enthusiasm about joining Everton, citing the club’s rich history and passionate fanbase as key factors in his decision.

“Everton is one of the biggest clubs in the country, and I believe its future is bright over the next few years. Choosing to come here was a straightforward decision,”

he stated during his signing announcement. He added,

“The stadium is remarkable. Having played in all the Premier League grounds, this stands out as one of the most impressive, which is a huge draw for me. The dedication of the fans is one of the strongest in the nation, and I’m eager to show them my capabilities and contribute to the team’s success.”

Previous Career Highlights

Dewsbury-Hall initially joined Chelsea before the 2024-25 season, where he made a total of 36 appearances, although only 13 were in the Premier League. His previous manager, Enzo Maresca, who was also at Leicester during the player’s successful tenure there, utilized him primarily in Chelsea’s Conference League campaign and during the Club World Cup, both of which resulted in trophies for the club.

Coach’s Comments and Squad Updates

Everton’s head coach, David Moyes, voiced his pleasure with Dewsbury-Hall’s decision, noting that despite interest from other clubs, the midfielder was drawn to the challenge offered at Everton.

“His experience in the Premier League offers us hope for a seamless adaptation to our setup,”

added Moyes.

Before his move to Chelsea, Dewsbury-Hall had an impressive tenure with Leicester City, featuring in 129 matches and contributing 17 goals and 20 assists. This summer, Moyes has also added to the squad with the signings of Thierno Barry, Adam Aznou, and Mark Travers, as well as securing Carlos Alcaraz permanently from Flamengo after a successful loan period.

Looking Ahead

Looking ahead, Everton finished the previous season in 13th place and will kick off their new campaign away against Leeds United on August 18, 2025.
