US Open Junior Tournament Highlights
On Saturday, the US Open junior tournament saw remarkable performances from Jeline Vandromme and Ivan Ivanov, both of whom emerged victorious in their respective singles matches.
Jeline Vandromme’s Victory
Vandromme, hailing from Belgium, faced off against Swedish qualifier Lea Nilsson and triumphed with scores of 7-6 (2) and 6-2. Vandromme displayed resilience by overcoming an early setback, clinching a tightly contested first set in a tiebreak before decisively taking control in the second.

an elated Vandromme remarked on the court after her victory, expressing her satisfaction with her overall performance throughout the tournament, which included significant wins over higher-ranked players like No. 2 Hannah Klugman and No. 3 Kristina Penickova.
Ivan Ivanov’s Championship
Meanwhile, the boys’ competition featured reigning Wimbledon champion Ivan Ivanov, who solidified his status as the top junior player by defeating his compatriot Alexander Vasilev in a closely watched final. As the tournament’s top seed, Ivanov secured the match with a score of 7-5, 6-3, in front of a lively audience adorned with Bulgarian flags.

Doubles Competition
In the doubles competition, the sisters Alena and Jana Kovackova claimed victory over Vandromme and her partner Laima Vladson. Similarly, the boys’ doubles title went to the American duo Keaton Hance and Jack Kennedy, who faced off against Noah Johnston and Benjamin Willwerth in the final.
