Upcoming Title Fight
James ‘Jazza’ Dickens, a 34-year-old southpaw from Liverpool, is set to defend his WBA super-featherweight title for the very first time against Anthony Cacace from Belfast. This highly anticipated matchup will take place at the 3 Arena in Dublin on Saturday, March 14.
James Dickens’ Journey
Dickens, who holds a professional record of 36 wins, including 15 by knockout, became the full champion in December after Lamont Roach lost the title due to inactivity and moving up weight classes.
Previously, Dickens claimed the interim belt following a convincing fourth-round knockout of Albert Batyrgaziev in July. Although he was scheduled to fight Hayato Tsutsumi in Riyadh on December 27, he had to withdraw due to an injury.
Anthony Cacace’s Challenge
Now, he faces Cacace, a former IBF champion with a record of 24 wins and only a single loss. Cacace last fought in May, defeating Leigh Wood by ninth-round stoppage before being sidelined by a back injury, which forced him to withdraw from a scheduled match against Raymond Ford.
Cacace aims to reclaim championship status after his initial title reign, which he began by defeating Joe Cordina in Saudi Arabia in May 2024 and later overcame Josh Warrington at Wembley Stadium.
Exciting Undercard
Adding excitement to the event, the undercard will feature a thrilling light-welterweight clash between the undefeated Pierce O’Leary (18-0, 10 KOs) from Dublin and Portsmouth’s Mark Chamberlain (17-1, 12 KOs), promising a night of explosive boxing action.
