Inter Milan’s Champions League Final Appearance
Inter Milan is set to make a striking appearance in Saturday’s Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain in Munich, donning their distinctive third kit, which features a vibrant golden yellow color. This matchup marks a significant moment, as it will be the first time in their history of six finals, dating back to their inaugural appearance in 1964, that the club will showcase their third uniform in such a prestigious game.
PSG’s Home Team Advantage
Due to PSG’s designation as the home team for this final, they will play in their primary colors, which consist of navy blue shirts and shorts adorned with a central white and red stripe. Consequently, Inter is unable to wear their iconic black and blue striped jerseys. Instead of opting for their secondary white kit, which features blue accents, the Italian side has chosen to embrace their audacious third strip, comprised of a golden yellow shirt paired with black shorts.
Fortune in Yellow
There’s an element of fortune tied to this decision, as coach Simone Inzaghi‘s squad has achieved success while wearing yellow in this season’s Champions League. Notably, they secured a 1-0 victory against Sparta Prague in January and triumphed in the first leg of their round-of-16 clash with Feyenoord in March, both while sporting this color. In stark contrast, their sole loss in the tournament occurred in a match against Bayer Leverkusen last December, when they were clad in their white uniforms.
