During a timeout in a decisive 68-52 win against Oregon on January 20th, Tom Izzo didn’t hold back in his critique, humorously declaring that his 6-foot-4 sophomore could not defend his own 99-year-old mother, Dorothy.

His remarks were not merely light-hearted; he later reinforced their seriousness in a post-game press conference by asserting,
“I’m serious as a jaybird. I hope it ticks him off so he plays better angry, because some of it was unstomachable and I haven’t said that much this whole year.”
