Haley Carter Resigns as Sporting Director of Orlando Pride, Seeking New Opportunities

Haley Carter Resigns from Orlando Pride

Haley Carter, who served as the vice president of soccer operations and sporting director for the Orlando Pride, has announced her resignation to explore new career paths, as revealed by the team on Tuesday. Over the past three seasons, Carter has significantly contributed to the Pride’s success, including the achievement of winning an NWSL title and the acquisition of standout players like Barbra Banda and Lizbeth Ovalle.

Owner’s Acknowledgment

Mark Wilf, the owner of the Pride, expressed gratitude for Carter’s impact on elevating the franchise to be recognized among the top teams in both the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) and internationally.

“Haley played a crucial role in establishing the Pride as a prominent force in women’s soccer,”

Wilf stated in his remarks. He added that the organization is diligently searching for a successor to lead the soccer operations, emphasizing the importance of continuing the momentum from their past successes: winning the NWSL Shield and the league championship in 2024, as well as a strong playoff run this season that concluded with a semifinal loss to Gotham FC.

Looking Ahead

Carter, who will assist in the transition process, commended the Wilf Family for their commitment to the team, noting that their ongoing investments highlight a strong belief in both the potential of the Pride and the broader future of women’s soccer. As the club looks forward to new leadership, it aims to build on its achievements and maintain a culture centered on success and growth.
