Groundbreaking Neymar and eFootball Collaboration Launches in Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel Event

Neymar Joins Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel

In a groundbreaking collaboration, Brazilian soccer superstar Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior, commonly known as Neymar, has made his way into the popular trading card game simulator, Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel. This unique crossover event, involving Konami’s eFootball franchise, offers players an exclusive chance to acquire various soccer-related accessories and cards over the next six weeks.

Exclusive Event Details

Participants who log into Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel during this promotional period will earn special event tickets. By redeeming these tickets, players can unlock a selection of soccer-themed items, including two notable accessories dedicated to Neymar: a distinctive in-game wallpaper and specially designed card sleeves. In this crossover, Neymar’s character dons a fantasy costume that draws inspiration from the legendary Yu-Gi-Oh! card, Dark Magician. Once players unlock these items, they will be permanently added to their inventories, ensuring Neymar remains an integral part of the game for many years to come.

Additional Soccer-Themed Content

Beyond Neymar-specific items, the event also introduces an assortment of other soccer-themed cards and accessories, such as an alternate artwork version of the popular card Rescue Rabbit, various items related to eFootball, and a dueling field styled like a soccer stadium.

Expansion to Duel Links

This crossover isn’t limited to Master Duel; it also extends into the simplified version of the game, Duel Links, where players can enjoy special themed items. Moreover, participants attending local Yu-Gi-Oh! events will have the opportunity to obtain a physical copy of the alternate artwork Rescue Rabbit and a special token card featuring Neymar.

A Historic Collaboration

This collaboration marks a significant shift for Yu-Gi-Oh!, as the franchise has historically refrained from featuring sports figures or celebrities in its games. Notably, in 2021, Konami had planned a collaboration with then-FC Barcelona player Antoine Griezmann, but it was swiftly canceled due to controversy surrounding a video that showed Griezmann and teammate Ousmane Dembélé inappropriately mocking Asian staff. Both players later expressed remorse and clarified there was no intent to be racist.

Event Duration

The Neymar and eFootball crossover event for Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel will run until November 27, 2025, providing fans with ample opportunity to engage with this innovative addition to the game.
