However, that aspiration was dashed when Djokovic, the esteemed 24-time Grand Slam champion, staged a comeback after losing the opening set to claim victory with a score of 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4.
Criticism from Becker
The German tennis star faced scrutiny for his defensive style during the match, which allowed Djokovic to control the pace of play. In an interview with German television, Becker did not hold back his criticisms, suggesting that Zverev’s performances have not reached their potential and that he should consider finding a new coach outside of his family. Having been part of Team Zverev, Becker emphasized the importance of change, comparing tennis to football where coaches regularly switch teams to inject fresh perspectives.
