Frank Warren Confirms Tyson Fury’s Plans for Boxing Comeback in 2026

Tyson Fury’s Boxing Revival

Tyson Fury appears to be geared up for a boxing revival, according to his promoter Frank Warren, who stated that the heavyweight champion is determined to make a comeback in 2026. At 37 years old, Fury had previously announced his retirement in January after suffering back-to-back defeats to Oleksandr Usyk, the current unified heavyweight champion. However, it seems the two-time titleholder is once again looking to return to the ring, much like he did in early 2022, by hinting at a potential trilogy bout with Usyk.

Details of the Comeback

The news about Fury’s comeback was first shared by Saudi boxing executive Turki Alalshikh, followed by Fury himself, who took to Instagram to specify a date for the anticipated third fight against Usyk, scheduling it for April 18, 2026, at London’s Wembley Stadium. While this date remains tentative, Warren has emphasized that Fury is serious about making a return.

“I had a conversation with him last week. He’s expressed his intention to come back and compete next year. He genuinely wants to do this,” Warren shared with DAZN.

Fury’s Current Activities

Despite not stepping into the ring this year, Fury has kept occupied with various projects, including filming for his Netflix series, “At Home with the Furys,” as well as other documentaries in progress. Warren noted that Fury has communicated to him that he is committed to returning to boxing in the coming year, stating,

“We’ll sit down and discuss the next steps.”

Future Showdowns

In addition to the Usyk rematch, boxing fans remain hopeful for a long-awaited showdown between Fury and Anthony Joshua. This potential “Battle of Britain” has been a topic of discussion, with both fighters expressing interest in making it happen before they eventually retire. Joshua, who will be 36 next year, has had a challenging past year, marred by injuries and has not fought since his knockout by Daniel Dubois in September 2024.
