Former Devils Cory Schneider and Mike Rupp Join MSG Network as Analysts

MSG Network Welcomes New Analysts for New Jersey Devils Coverage

The MSG Network has revealed an exciting addition to its coverage of the New Jersey Devils: two former players will step into the role of television analysts for pre- and post-game segments during the 2025–26 season. The network is the principal broadcaster for not only the Devils but also for other New York sports teams, including the Rangers, Islanders, and Knicks.

Introducing Cory Schneider and Mike Rupp

Cory Schneider, who manned the net for the Devils from 2013 to 2020, will join fellow analyst Mike Rupp, along with Rachel Herzog and Bryce Salvador. Drafted by the Vancouver Canucks 26th overall in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Schneider made a name for himself during his tenure in New Jersey, where he initially split playing time with legendary goaltender Martin Brodeur before eventually assuming the starting role. Over his NHL career, Schneider participated in 410 games, accumulating 171 victories and a solid .918 save percentage, rounding out his career with a stint at the Islanders.

Mike Rupp also boasts a rich history with the Devils, playing for the team from 2002 until 2009. During his career, he also represented the Phoenix Coyotes and the Columbus Blue Jackets before finishing with teams like the Pittsburgh Penguins, Minnesota Wild, and the New York Rangers. Notably, Rupp was part of the Devils squad that clinched the Stanley Cup in 2003. Over his 610 games in the league, he tallied 99 points, which included 54 goals and 45 assists, after being selected in the third round of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.

Transition to Broadcasting

Now 45, Rupp has shifted his focus to a broadcasting career, having previously gained experience as an analyst with the NHL Network. Both Rupp and Schneider are poised to contribute their insights and expertise to the Devils’ broadcasts, making their debut as MSG Network analysts this season.

Fans can look forward to seeing these former players bring their on-ice knowledge to the small screen, as they take on their new roles in sports commentary at MSG.
