FIFA World Cup 2026 Ticket Presale

FIFA has reported a tremendous response for the presale of tickets for the upcoming 2026 World Cup, with over 4.5 million applications submitted, primarily from fans in the United States. This initial presale event, which catered exclusively to Visa cardholders, closed recently, and among the applicants, Mexico and Canada, the other co-hosting nations, also saw significant interest. While FIFA did not disclose specific applicant numbers for each country, they emphasized the broad global appeal of the tournament.

Ticket Purchase Process

Beginning on September 29, those selected from this presale will receive notifications and a designated time frame to finalize their purchases, starting October 1. FIFA President Gianni Infantino commented on the impressive number of applications, expressing that it highlights an unparalleled enthusiasm for the event across various nations:

“The whole world wants to be part of the FIFA World Cup 26.”

Ticket Policies and Pricing

With matches spanning across 16 cities in North America and a total of 104 matches planned, the ticket policies are strict. Each individual is limited to purchasing a maximum of four tickets per match, and a total of no more than 40 tickets for the entire tournament. The pricing for tickets ranges significantly, starting at $60 for initial group stage matches and climbing to $6,730 for the final match, which reflects an increase from earlier World Cups, as FIFA implements dynamic pricing for the first time. This pricing strategy follows recent trends, as seen during the FIFA Club World Cup in 2023.

Future Ticket Sales

A second early ticket draw phase is set to commence on October 27, followed by a random selection draw after the World Cup’s final schedule is determined on December 5 in Washington, D.C. This will lead into a final sales phase closer to the start of the tournament, which will operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Additionally, FIFA plans to launch an official resale platform starting on October 2, allowing fans more opportunities to purchase tickets as the event approaches.

Global Interest

Prominent football nations such as Germany, England, Brazil, Argentina, and Italy also made it to the top 10 applicants, with entries coming from fans across 216 countries and territories worldwide. The excitement for the 2026 World Cup is palpable, reinforcing that the passion for soccer brings together fans from all around the globe in anticipation of this landmark event.
