In a strong display of skill, the No. 25 ranked Fairfield women’s basketball team claimed a solid victory over Sacred Heart, finishing the quarterfinal matchup of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Tournament with a score of 69-53. This win, held in Atlantic City on Friday, marks Fairfield’s ninth consecutive triumph this season and ensures their continued pursuit of a third consecutive MAAC championship as they aim for another appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

Fairfield, carrying an impressive overall record of 26-4 and standing as the second seed in the tournament, established a comfortable lead early on. Notably, Kaety L’Amoreaux, who has been a standout throughout the season and was named the conference’s player of the year, finished the game with 21 points. Her teammate Meghan Andersen contributed significantly as well, adding 16 points to the scoreboard. Together, they were instrumental in developing a 35-24 advantage for the Stags by halftime.
