Michael Whitaker on X has reported that Eduards Tralmaks may have played his final game with the Detroit Red Wings. The forward, who was under a one-year, two-way contract signed last March for the 2025-26 season, has now inked a deal to continue his career in the Czech Republic. Nevertheless, he expressed a willingness to return to North America should an NHL opportunity arise.

“I have a contract in Czechia, but I will consider any NHL offers that come my way.”

He added that this period marks the transition from playing season to negotiations, hinting at a definitive career path within the next six weeks.

Performance Highlights

This past season with the Grand Rapids Griffins, Tralmaks demonstrated notable performance, participating in 64 regular-season matches. He secured his place as a key contributor by scoring 26 goals and assisting on 16 others, placing him as fourth overall in team scoring. His efforts were pivotal in helping the Griffins reach the playoffs, a feat that hadn’t been achieved in decades by any AHL team in February. Additionally, he made his mark in the playoffs, netting four goals in eight games.

Previous Experience

Prior to joining the Red Wings organization, Tralmaks played for Rytíři Kladno in the Czech Extraliga where he notably led the league in scoring, achieving 51 points through 23 goals and 28 assists. His experience also spans several years in North America, with time spent at the University of Maine and the Providence Bruins in the AHL, as well as the EHL’s Boston Jr. Bandits and the USHL’s Chicago Steel.
