In an emphatic display of skill, Borussia Dortmund triumphed over Mainz with a commanding 4-0 victory in Dortmund on Friday, reinforcing their formidable status in the Bundesliga. This win not only marked Dortmund’s 15th consecutive unbeaten match in the league but also closed the distance between them and league leaders Bayern Munich to just three points, setting the stage for a thrilling title race.

Dortmund has been on an impressive run, boasting five consecutive league victories leading up to the match, despite struggling in European competitions. They demonstrated their dominance from the outset against a Mainz team that had recently managed to pull away from the risks of relegation.

However, following the loss to Dortmund, Mainz remains precariously placed in 14th position, just four points above the danger zone, but only two points ahead of both Wolfsburg and Werder Bremen, who have a game in hand themselves.
