During the Calder Cup Playoffs, Hellberg further showcased his skills, earning a 3-3 record paired with a stellar .921 save percentage and a 2.36 goals-against average. At 34 years old, he was a key player for the Texas Stars, forming a formidable partnership with Remi Poirier that propelled the team to the Western Conference Finals.

Originally chosen in the second round of the 2011 NHL Draft by the Nashville Predators, Hellberg has accumulated experience across various leagues, appearing in 26 NHL games split among teams such as the Predators, New York Rangers, and Detroit Red Wings, among others. His eight seasons in the AHL have not gone unnoticed, as he was recognized as an All-Star in 2015, accumulating a record of 124 wins, 97 losses, and 18 ties, complemented by a .912 save percentage, a 2.55 goals-against average, and 17 shutouts.
