Dennis Schröder joins Sacramento Kings, marking the 10th stop in his NBA career

Dennis Schröder Signs with Sacramento Kings

Dennis Schröder, a seasoned point guard who has changed teams multiple times throughout his NBA career, has reached a contract agreement with the Sacramento Kings, according to sources within the league. The specific terms of the contract are still under wraps.

Schröder’s Journey and Team Changes

Schröder’s move to Sacramento marks the latest chapter in a journey that has seen him play for a total of ten NBA teams. The Kings are looking to solidify their backcourt after a tumultuous last season which left them on the verge of the playoffs. Last year, Sacramento finished with a record of 40-42 and was forced to revamp their roster, notably trading away their star point guard, De’Aaron Fox, in exchange for two-time All-Star Zach LaVine.

In addition to the roster changes, the team has also undergone a transition in coaching, with Doug Christie being promoted from an assistant role to head coach this offseason, following the dismissal of Mike Brown.

Point Guard Situation

Before Schröder’s signing, Sacramento had limited options at point guard, relying solely on 23-year-old Devin Carter, who had minimal experience during his rookie campaign.

Schröder’s Performance

During the previous season, Schröder averaged 13.1 points, 5.4 assists, and 2.6 rebounds, showcasing his versatility as he bounced around the league, playing for three different teams. He started the season with the Brooklyn Nets, moved to the Golden State Warriors in December, and eventually finished the season with the Detroit Pistons, where he played a crucial role in supporting a young roster that made a playoff appearance.

Notably, he often shared the court with All-NBA guard Cade Cunningham, contributing significantly as a bench player and in clutch situations.
