Daniel Dubois prioritizes Usyk battle over Tyson Fury’s return plans

Daniel Dubois Focuses on Upcoming Bout

Daniel Dubois has emphasized that his main priority lies in his upcoming bout against Oleksandr Usyk, not in pursuing a clash with Tyson Fury. Scheduled to take place on July 19 in London, their match will be for the undisputed heavyweight title.

Fury’s Plans and Dubois’ Response

Meanwhile, Fury has recently declared his intention to face Usyk for a third time in April 2026 at Wembley Stadium. This announcement follows a statement on Wednesday by Turki Alalshikh, who leads Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority and owns Ring Magazine, revealing that Fury plans to return to boxing after announcing his retirement earlier this year.

“I don’t read too much into that really, but if he’s going to come back, he’ll end up fighting me because I’m going to come win all them belts,” Dubois told ESPN.

He expressed that this news is significant for the heavyweight division and views the prospect of Fury returning as a positive development.

Fury’s Comments and Dubois’ Confidence

In comments aimed at Dubois, Fury stated that if they were to fight, he would dominate, saying he would “box Dubois’ ears off” and implying it would be an overwhelmingly one-sided match. Despite this, Dubois has confidence in his abilities. When asked about a hypothetical fight with Fury, Dubois confidently stated,

“He’d end up on the floor… But I’m not even going to go into that too much.”

Staying Grounded and Focused

Currently focusing on his training, Dubois stresses the importance of staying grounded and committed to his upcoming challenge with Usyk.

“I’m fighting right now and I’m going to stay in my own lane and stay grounded on the job because all of this talk goes over my head when I’m in the gym,” said Dubois.

He remains clear about his mission, showing determination to conquer every obstacle in his path.

“Whoever wants it can have it. That’s really my attitude right now. I’ve just got to go through them like a hot knife through butter and whoever wants it can have it.”
