Zuffa Boxing Expands Roster
Zuffa Boxing, under the leadership of Dana White, has expanded its roster by signing two notable fighters: Edgar Berlanga and Richardson Hitchins. This announcement was made on Wednesday, marking a significant development in the promotional company’s strategy to build a competitive talent pool in the United States.
Fighter Profiles
Both boxers are set to join a lineup that already features British talent Conor Benn and the former IBF cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia.
Edgar Berlanga
Berlanga, a former title challenger with a record of 23 wins and 2 losses, including 18 knockouts, is known for his intense fights. His latest notable match was against Saul “Canelo” Alvarez in September 2024, where he lost his bid for the undisputed super middleweight title. After bouncing back with a first-round TKO against Jonathan Gonzalez-Ortiz in March 2025, Berlanga faced a setback when he was defeated by Hamzah Sheeraz in July of the same year.
Richardson Hitchins
On the other hand, Richardson Hitchins boasts an unbeaten record of 20-0, with 8 of those victories coming by way of knockout. He earned the IBF super lightweight title through a unanimous decision over Liam Paro in December 2024 and successfully defended his title against Australian George Kambosos Jr. in June. Hitchins was slated to fight Oscar Duarte on February 21 as a part of the undercard for the Ryan Garcia versus Mario Barrios event, but he had to withdraw from the matchup due to illness. Additionally, the IBF has stepped in to set up his mandatory defense against Lindolfo Delgado instead of rescheduling the bout with Duarte, as negotiations for this fight are currently in progress.
Upcoming Debuts
Fans can expect to see both Berlanga and Hitchins make their respective debuts with Zuffa Boxing in the upcoming summer season, as confirmed in the press release from the company.
