Exeter Chiefs Sign Claudia MacDonald
In a notable development for women’s rugby, Exeter Chiefs have secured the services of prominent winger Claudia MacDonald for the upcoming 2025-26 Premiership season. The 29-year-old athlete, who has donned the England jersey 35 times, joined Exeter in 2022 and has impressively crossed the try line 25 times in her 29 appearances despite battling a significant neck injury.
MacDonald’s Journey and Goals
Recently, she made waves during the Six Nations, marking her return to the national squad after rehabilitation from her injury. MacDonald’s ambitions are firmly set on securing a spot for the imminent World Cup, where she aims to build on her previous experience from the 2021 final held in New Zealand, in which she participated as a substitute.
Steve Salvin, the interim head coach of Exeter, praised MacDonald’s remarkable comeback and resilience, stating, “Claudia is a world-class player, exemplified by her performances in the Six Nations. She’s a source of positivity in the team, and we can expect an even stronger version of her when she returns to pitch at the club level.”
