Chris Eubank Jr. Reveals Serious Health Struggles Halting His Boxing Comeback

Chris Eubank Jr. Reveals Health Challenges

Chris Eubank Jr. has recently disclosed some serious health challenges he has faced over the past year, which he previously alluded to in his social media posts. In a candid video shared online, Eubank Jr. is seen in a hospital setting surrounded by medical professionals, where he explains,

“I’ve been dealing with a lot of health issues, and it finally caught up to me last month.”

Commitment to Recovery

He emphasized the importance of recovering fully before considering a return to the ring, stating,

“I won’t box again until I’m back to 100%, and I can’t say when that will be. However, I want to assure my fans who have stood by me through thick and thin that I will strive to make a comeback as the fighter I used to be.”

Recent Fight and Performance

While Eubank Jr. refrained from disclosing specific medical conditions or details regarding his health, he hinted at these underlying issues during the lead-up to his recent rematch with Conor Benn. Despite having won their first encounter earlier this year—during which he had a heartfelt reunion with his father—Eubank Jr. suffered a disappointing defeat in their latest battle at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last month.

The fight took place within a strict 160-pound middleweight limit, which included a stipulation that neither boxer could exceed 170 pounds the morning of the event. At 36 years old, Eubank Jr. was critiqued by promoter Ben Shalom, who noted,

“He probably threw 30% of the punches he could have. There’s speculation about the reasons for that; Chris knows the truth, and it’s something he will have to confront eventually.”

Looking Ahead

After the fight, Eubank Jr. reflected on his struggles, saying,

“I’ve been through hell and back to make it here today. I genuinely believed that despite my health issues, I could win.”

However, he indicated that he was not ready to contemplate future fights immediately, stating,

“Right now, I need to focus on healing and dealing with what I’m going through before I can think about my next steps in boxing.”
