Cavaliers Shake Up Roster, Welcome Olivier Sarr to Two-Way Contract

Cleveland Cavaliers Roster Update

In a significant roster adjustment, the Cleveland Cavaliers have once again changed their two-way contract situation. This time, they have replaced Darius Brown II with Olivier Sarr, as reported by Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

Darius Brown II’s Performance

Brown, who has been associated with the Cleveland Charge, the G League affiliate of the Cavaliers, has showcased solid statistics over the past two seasons, averaging 12.5 points, 9.6 assists, and 3.8 rebounds per game in 33 appearances this season alone. Despite these contributions, his opportunities with the Cavaliers have been limited, featuring in only one game so far this year.

Introducing Olivier Sarr

On the other hand, Olivier Sarr, 27, brings experience from a variety of teams including the Oklahoma City Thunder, Portland Trail Blazers, and Toronto Raptors. He is notably the older sibling of Alex Sarr, a promising young player for the Washington Wizards. Olivier Sarr, standing at 6’10”, has spent much of his career in the G League, most recently averaging 11.2 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game for the Raptors 905, with shooting splits of .506/.388/.708.

His presence may serve as a temporary solution for the Cavaliers filling the center position vacated by Norchad Omier, who recently transitioned to a two-way contract with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Cleveland Charge’s Current Standing

The Cleveland Charge, Brown’s former team, is currently performing well with a record of 17-8, positioning themselves strongly as they aim for a playoff appearance in the G League. As the Cavaliers continue to refine their roster, it remains to be seen if Sarr will be a long-term addition to their plans.
