Vancouver Canucks Lineup Updates
The Vancouver Canucks have announced updates to their lineup by sending goaltender Nikita Tolopilo and defenseman Elias Pettersson to their AHL affiliate, the Abbotsford Canucks. This decision comes in accordance with NHL regulations, which state that both players must participate in at least one AHL fixture before being eligible for a return to the NHL roster.
Player Performance
Tolopilo, who has seen limited action this season with five games under his belt for Abbotsford, holds a record of 1-3-1 and has recorded a .901 save percentage. Notably, he started two matches during a recent road trip for the Canucks but had to return to Vancouver prematurely due to personal reasons as his wife went into labor.
Meanwhile, 21-year-old Pettersson has been a consistent presence in the NHL this year, contributing two points across 24 games. However, he was a healthy scratch in the team’s last two games, prompting this move to Abbotsford. In his AHL career, he has participated in 46 games, where he accrued 15 points, alongside 44 penalty minutes.
Abbotsford Canucks Struggles
The Abbotsford Canucks are currently struggling in the AHL, positioned at the bottom of the league standings with a disappointing record of 4 wins, 14 losses, and 2 overtime losses. Their next matchup is set for Wednesday evening against the Calgary Wranglers, with the game kicking off at 7:00 PM PT at the newly renamed Rogers Forum.
