Burnley secures Loum Tchaouna from Lazio ahead of Premier League return

Burnley Football Club Announces New Signing

Burnley Football Club has officially announced the acquisition of 21-year-old Loum Tchaouna, a French youth international, from Lazio, an Italian Serie A team. Tchaouna, who was recently part of France’s Under-21 team at the European Championship, has committed to a five-year contract at Turf Moor, becoming the club’s fourth signing in an active transfer window as they gear up for their upcoming Premier League campaign.

Player Profile

The versatile forward, capable of playing both as a right winger and in a central role, is a product of the Rennes youth academy. With a notable career that includes 130 appearances at the senior level, he gained valuable experience during loan spells with Dijon and Salernitana before making the leap to Lazio in the summer of 2024. Last season, Tchaouna participated in 37 matches, mostly as a substitute.

Burnley’s Recruitment Strategy

Burnley’s recruitment strategy has been robust this summer, having previously secured several signings including Axel Tuanzebe, the former Manchester United defender, who joined on a free transfer, as well as left-back Quilindschy Hartman from Feyenoord and goalkeeper Max Weiss from Karlsruher in Germany.

This proactive approach comes as Scott Parker prepares for the team’s return to the Premier League, a feat they achieved by finishing second in the Championship, amassing 100 points, and only falling behind Leeds United on goal difference during the previous season.
