The Hockey News has unveiled its latest rankings of the top 100 prospects connected to the NHL, revealing the players who ranked from 11 to 20. Among those listed are two promising talents from the Buffalo Sabres organization:

  • Konsta Helenius – Forward
  • Radim Mrtka – Defenseman

Konsta Helenius: Rising Star

Helenius has been distinguished with the 12th position in the rankings, which is a testament to his impressive development. This 19-year-old has made significant strides in his performance while playing for the Rochester Americans in the AHL this season. Over the course of 51 games, he has achieved a remarkable total of 50 points, with 18 goals and 32 assists.

Additionally, Helenius has already made his debut in the NHL, participating in nine games where he managed to score one goal and collect four points, clearly demonstrating his potential as a first-round draft pick in 2024.

Radim Mrtka: Defensive Talent

On the other hand, Radim Mrtka secured the 15th spot on the list. The 18-year-old defenseman has showcased his skills in the WHL while playing for the Seattle Thunderbirds, participating in 43 games this season and contributing one goal alongside 34 points.

Mrtka has also had a taste of AHL competition, appearing in four games with the Amerks and recording one assist and seven points. His promising profile suggests that he could develop into a significant asset for the Sabres in the future, as he continues to build his career at the professional level.
