Upcoming Unrestricted Free Agents
In a recent assessment of upcoming unrestricted free agents, Chris Johnston of The Athletic highlighted 20 players, among which were two representatives from the Buffalo Sabres: Alex Tuch and Logan Stanley.
Alex Tuch’s Standout Performance
Tuch garnered significant attention by securing the third position on the list. Only two players were ranked higher: defensemen Darren Raddysh of the Tampa Bay Lightning and Rasmus Andersson of the Vegas Golden Knights.
Tuch’s impressive performance this season has understandably placed him among the elite of the pending free agents. Throughout the regular season, he showcased remarkable consistency, finishing with 33 goals and adding 33 assists for a total of 66 points across 79 games. His impact has continued into the playoffs, where he has already scored four goals and recorded seven points in just seven games. Tuch’s current form clearly suggests he is a frontrunner for a lucrative contract, whether he opts to remain with the Sabres or seek opportunities elsewhere.
Logan Stanley’s Breakout Season
On the other hand, defenseman Logan Stanley made his mark in the rankings at the 14th position. The 27-year-old is experiencing a breakout season at a pivotal moment, having recorded new career highs with nine goals, 17 assists, and a total of 26 points over 76 regular-season games, which he split between the Winnipeg Jets and the Sabres.
Stanley’s physicality, as evidenced by 110 hits and 128 penalty minutes, adds to his value as a formidable player on the ice, enhancing his attractiveness to potential suitors among teams looking for a rugged defenseman in the offseason.
