Buffalo Sabres Roster Adjustments
In a flurry of recent roster adjustments, the Buffalo Sabres have elevated forward Noah Ostlund from their AHL affiliate, the Rochester Americans, while sending Trevor Kuntar back down to the minors.
Noah Ostlund’s Performance
Ostlund, a highly regarded first-round draft pick, has appeared in 20 games for the Sabres this season, contributing three goals and three assists, alongside a solid defensive showing with 12 blocks and a plus-1 rating. His performance in the AHL has been impressive as well, with three goals and seven assists in just seven games, making him a player to watch closely during his return to the NHL.
Trevor Kuntar’s Recent Play
Conversely, Kuntar, who only recently made his NHL debut on December 11 against the Vancouver Canucks, recorded one hit but finished with a minus-1 rating in just over five minutes of play. Prior to his call-up, he showcased his skills in the AHL, where he netted nine goals and provided four assists in 24 games, along with 43 penalty minutes.
Strategic Moves by the Sabres
The Sabres’ moves reflect both their strategy to leverage young talent and the ongoing shuffle of players that is common in the NHL as teams seek the best fit for their lineups during the season.
