Vanderbilt University Welcomes Bryce Griggs

In a notable development in college basketball recruiting, Vanderbilt University welcomed Bryce Griggs, a 22-year-old professional point guard, for an official campus visit. This event took place during the Commodores’ showdown against rival Tennessee on February 21st.

Griggs’ Basketball Journey

Griggs, who stands at 6 feet 2 inches, initially made waves by foregoing traditional college pathways in favor of signing with Overtime Elite (OTE) back in 2021. Throughout his two-year stint with OTE, he showcased his skills impressively, averaging 16.4 points, 7.9 assists, and 5.6 rebounds during his second season.

After declaring for the NBA Draft in 2023, he unfortunately went undrafted, subsequently participating in the NBA Summer League with the Philadelphia 76ers. Later, he was chosen 24th overall by the Texas Legends in the NBA G League Draft of October 2024, though he was released before the season commenced.

Griggs then embarked on an overseas journey, initially playing with KK Kotor in Montenegro, followed by a stint at Rayos de Hermosillo in Mexico, where he averaged 11.2 points and 4.6 assists per game.

Transitioning Back to College Basketball

Currently, Griggs is eager to transition back to college basketball. According to a recent announcement from his agency, Prestige Management Group, he has received NCAA clearance that allows him to enroll in college with a minimum of two years of eligibility available for him. This shift marks a significant turn in Griggs’ career as he seeks to further his education and enhance his prospects in the sport.
