Bronny James Ruled Out for Upcoming Game
Bronny James, the guard for the Los Angeles Lakers, will not participate in the upcoming match against the New York Knicks this Sunday, as announced by the team due to lower left leg discomfort. Initially considered questionable after the Lakers’ recent defeat to the Washington Wizards, the Lakers confirmed he has now been ruled out for the game at Madison Square Garden.
Season Performance Overview
In just his second season, the son of LeBron James finds himself on track to surpass the number of appearances he made in his rookie year, where he managed to play in 27 games; already, he has seen action in 26 contests this season. Since being selected in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft, he has been juggling games between the NBA and the G-League. In the last game against the Wizards, Bronny played five minutes, registering four points and converting two of three free throw attempts.
Upcoming Games and Team Standing
This game against the Knicks marks the first of two scheduled games in New York, with the Lakers also set to face the Brooklyn Nets next Tuesday. While James hasn’t posted eye-popping stats, there have been notable improvements in his performance this year. His three-point shooting percentage has significantly increased from 28.1% in his first season to 37.5%, and his overall shooting from the field has gone up from 31.3% to 37%.
Following the back-to-back games in New York, the Lakers will return to Los Angeles for an extensive seven-game homestand that will last more than two weeks, featuring matchups against several teams, including the Golden State Warriors and the Boston Celtics. Currently, the Lakers hold a sixth-place standing in the Western Conference with a record of 29 wins and 18 losses. The highly anticipated game will tip-off at 7:00 p.m. ET and will be broadcasted on NBC and Peacock as part of the Sunday Night Basketball lineup.
