Brighton Star Julio Enciso Set for Potential Transfer to BlueCo-Owned Club

Brighton Talent Julio Enciso on the Move

Reports have emerged indicating that Brighton’s young talent, Julio Enciso, is on the verge of transferring to a club under the ownership of BlueCo, the consortium that includes Chelsea and Strasbourg. While a formal agreement is not yet in place, initial discussions suggest the transfer fee could reach around €15 million (approximately $17 million), plus additional performance-related bonuses.

Loan Plans and Future Prospects

The plan appears to be that Enciso will initially be loaned to Strasbourg, with the intention of him eventually joining Chelsea by 2026 or later. This would mark him as the 15th individual, whether a player or staff member, to transition from Brighton to Chelsea since BlueCo, led by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital, assumed control of Chelsea in 2022.

Manager’s Comments on Speculation

Brighton manager Fabian Hürzeler addressed the ongoing speculation during a press briefing, stating:

“While there have been discussions and rumors, nothing is finalized, so we are unable to make any official comments at this point.”

Enciso’s Performance and Potential

Since his acquisition from Libertad in 2022 for approximately £9.5 million, Enciso has made 57 appearances for Brighton, contributing five goals and six assists. He recently finished a loan stint at Ipswich Town in the latter half of the last season.

Hürzeler praised Enciso’s capabilities, noting:

“He is a young player with immense potential. His performances here have shown what he can achieve, including with the national team, despite facing some injuries along the way. His desire to play football and his passion are palpable, making it a pleasure to work with him.”

The manager also highlighted that his talent has attracted interest from major clubs, emphasizing that if Enciso is receiving attention, it reflects the promise he holds as a player, rather than a lackluster performance during his time at Brighton.
