Benjamin Sesko of Manchester United Aims to Follow in Footsteps of Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Manchester United Welcomes New Forward

Manchester United has welcomed its new forward, Benjamin Sesko, who aspires to mirror the feats of his football idol, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, during his tenure at Old Trafford. The Slovenia international finalized his transfer from RB Leipzig this past Saturday for a staggering fee of around €85 million (approximately $98.8 million).

Admiration for Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Ibrahimovic had a memorable stint at Manchester United, contributing significantly with 29 goals and 10 assists across 53 matches over nearly two years. Reflecting on his admiration for the Swedish striker, Sesko expressed:

“From a young age, I’ve idolized him. I’ve watched every YouTube video available because he’s just incredible to me. Although our personalities differ, I greatly appreciate his style of play and passion for football. Meeting him would be a dream come true.”

Even though he recognizes that their playing styles are distinct, Sesko hopes to incorporate aspects of Ibrahimovic’s game into his own. Last season, the young striker made his mark at Leipzig by scoring 21 goals in 45 appearances.

Respect for United Legends

Sesko also voiced respect for former United legends Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney, stating:

“I’ve followed their careers and analyzed their play through videos. They were remarkable players. I aim to make a positive impression here and contribute to elevating the team’s performance.”

Optimism for the Future

After enduring a disappointing 15th-place finish in the previous Premier League campaign, Manchester United is optimistic about the future, boosted by new signings including Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, alongside Sesko. The striker remarked on the potential of the current squad, saying:

“The team is on the rise, and I’m excited to start this journey. We can build something great together, gaining fresh energy and enthusiasm as a unit. It’s essential for us to connect and improve step by step. I believe it’s just a matter of time before we soar again.”
