Ben Stiller: The Dedicated Knicks Fan
Ben Stiller, recognized for his diverse talents as an actor, producer, writer, and director, reveals himself as a devoted New York Knicks supporter. Consistently spotted at Madison Square Garden during both the regular NBA season and the playoffs, Stiller’s loyalty to the Knicks has taken him on the road this postseason as well.
Most recently, he attended Game 4 against the Indiana Pacers, where he was seen cheering alongside another prominent Knicks fan, actor Timothée Chalamet.
Friendship Built on Shared Passion
The partnership between Stiller and Chalamet has blossomed, with both stars forming a friendship rooted in their shared enthusiasm for the Knicks. In a conversation on "The Putback with Ian Begley," Stiller shared how their bond developed:
"We crossed paths a few times over the years, and as a fan of Chalamet’s work, I found him to be a really great person. At some Knicks games, we hit it off, and during the Detroit series, we decided to go together and really got to know one another. He’s a true, dedicated fan of the Knicks, totally immersed in the game, and like a true New Yorker, he’s not shy about calling out referees during games."
Courtside Antics and the Indiana Experience
During their courtside experience in Indiana, Stiller and Chalamet, along with legendary filmmaker Spike Lee, found themselves at the center of playful ribbing from Pat McAfee, a former punter for the Indianapolis Colts and TV personality. McAfee humorously taunted the trio from the arena’s sideline:
"Look at the big shots from New York here! Spike Lee, Ben Stiller, Timothée Chalamet—let’s send these guys back home with their ears ringing!"
Stiller took the jabs in stride, appreciating the lively atmosphere of the Indiana game. He remarked on the unique energy there and suggested that McAfee should experience the electric ambiance of Madison Square Garden during the upcoming Game 5:
"I wasn’t expecting that! But I get where he’s coming from. It’s a different vibe back in New York, and he should absolutely come to Game 5. They’ll showcase him on the screen, and I think Knicks fans would cheer him for that punting skill."
Looking Ahead
Looking ahead to Game 5, the Knicks find themselves in a critical position, facing a 3-1 deficit in the series. Fans can anticipate seeing Stiller and Chalamet once again supporting their team in an effort to shift the series momentum. However, when asked about the possibility of their antics being broadcast with microphones during the game, Stiller humorously declined the idea:
"They definitely wouldn’t want that!"
