Atlanta Hawks Revamp Front Office with NBA Veterans Graham and Dinwiddie as Senior VPs

Atlanta Hawks Front Office Restructuring

The Atlanta Hawks have significantly restructured their front office under general manager Onsi Saleh, introducing notable figures from the NBA. Former New Orleans Pelicans general manager Bryson Graham has been appointed as the senior vice president of basketball operations. Alongside him, Peter Dinwiddie, who previously served as executive vice president with the Philadelphia 76ers, takes on the role of senior vice president of strategy and analytics.

Season Overview and Management Changes

This shift in the Hawks’ administration comes after a disappointing season where the team recorded a 40-42 win-loss record, ultimately falling short of the playoffs following a 0-2 performance in the play-in tournament. Saleh, who stepped into the GM role on April 21 after Landry Fields was let go, expressed enthusiasm about his new hires.

“We are fortunate to be able to add Bryson and Peter to our leadership team,”

said Saleh in a public statement.

He praised Graham for his reputation as one of the league’s foremost young talent evaluators and lauded Dinwiddie as an exceptionally strategic thinker within the NBA.

Background of New Appointments

The Hawks’ ownership has given Saleh the mandate to curate a strong and dynamic front office, and he views the inclusion of Graham and Dinwiddie as a major victory for the organization. Graham comes to Atlanta with 15 years of experience with the Pelicans, where he developed his career from an intern to the general manager position. He has held various roles within the franchise, including assisting in player development and college scouting.

Dinwiddie’s impressive background includes 14 years with the Indiana Pacers before he joined the 76ers, where he was pivotal in their basketball operations.

Looking Ahead

The Hawks are poised for the upcoming NBA Draft on June 25, holding two first-round selections at the 13th and 22nd picks, and these strategic appointments could play crucial roles in shaping the franchise’s future.
