Stefan Djokovic at Wimbledon
At Wimbledon, young Stefan Djokovic, the son of tennis star Novak Djokovic, is soaking up the atmosphere in style, flaunting a white cap covered in signatures from various players. However, one notable name missing from the collection is his father’s, as Novak himself humorously pointed out following his hard-fought victory over Alex de Minaur in the fourth round.
Collecting Autographs
After the match, the 24-time Grand Slam champion shared that his son has taken the initiative in gathering these autographs independently, highlighting Stefan’s enthusiasm for engaging with the players.
“It was him, independently of me, approaching and asking for autographs,”
Novak explained. While he might have sought an autograph from fellow competitor Jannik Sinner, the rest of the signatures were secured solely by his son’s efforts.
Engaging with Tennis
Stefan’s immersion in the sport goes beyond just collecting signatures; he’s also found time to engage with tennis directly, practicing with Flavio Cobolli, the Italian player who is set to compete against his father in the quarterfinals.
“He’s over the moon. Obviously, he loves tennis. Yeah, he has everyone’s signature, except mine,”
Novak reflected, showing his support for Stefan’s passion.
The Djokovic Family
In addition to Stefan, who is 11, Novak and his wife Jelena are also parents to a 7-year-old daughter, Tara, who recently captured spectators’ attention with an adorable post-match dance earlier in the tournament.
The family’s presence at Wimbledon has added a fun and familial aspect to the prestigious tournament as Novak continues his quest for more titles.
