Arshdeep Bains: A Milestone Achievement

Arshdeep Bains has etched his name into the Abbotsford Canucks history books by achieving a remarkable milestone: he has become the all-time leading scorer for the franchise. With his recent short-handed goal against the Henderson Silver Knights, Bains amassed a total of 149 points, surpassing the previous record of 148 held by Linus Karlsson.

Career Highlights

The young forward’s impressive totals include 47 goals and 102 assists during his tenure with the Canucks. Bains, who first signed an entry-level contract with the Vancouver Canucks in 2022, made his initial appearance in the American Hockey League (AHL) on October 14 of that year, notching his first career AHL goal in the same game against the Ontario Reign.

His inaugural season set the stage for what’s been an impressive campaign; he contributed 13 goals and 25 assists in 66 appearances. Bains truly began to demonstrate his scoring prowess in the 2023-24 season, where he recorded 55 points in 59 games and made his NHL debut with the Vancouver Canucks on February 20 against the Colorado Avalanche. His stellar performance during the AHL All-Star Classic earned him the MVP title.

The following season (2024-25), he continued to shine, scoring 43 points in just 50 games, playing a pivotal role in Abbotsford’s Calder Cup victory. The current season (2025-26) saw him start with the Vancouver squad; however, he returned to Abbotsford for two stints in which he has tallied seven goals and six assists across 17 games, placing him tied for eighth in points for his team.
