Andrew Tate’s Upcoming Boxing Match
In a controversial announcement, Andrew Tate has revealed his upcoming boxing match, which is scheduled for December 20 in Dubai against Chase DeMoor, a well-known TV figure. Tate, a British-American influencer and former kickboxer, claims that he has taken over as CEO of Misfits, the fight promotion founded by YouTube personality KSI, who he alleges he has ousted from the position.
Tate’s Boxing Background
At 38 years old, Tate carries an impressive kickboxing record of 76 wins — including 32 by knockout — against 9 losses and 1 draw, having also dabbled in mixed martial arts. This fight marks his debut in boxing and will take place in the heavyweight division.
Legal Troubles
Widely recognized for his provocative social media presence, Tate has branded himself a “misogynist” and frequently showcases his extravagant lifestyle online. However, his public persona has been shadowed by serious legal issues; he and his brother Tristan face multiple allegations, including rape and human trafficking, which they both deny firmly. Earlier this year, the UK Crown Prosecution Service announced 21 charges against the duo. Notably, Andrew is charged with serious offenses involving three alleged victims, while Tristan faces similar accusations related to another.
The allegations led to their scrutiny beyond the UK, with investigations reportedly extending to the United States. Both brothers are currently residing in Romania, where they were indicted, prompting extradition proceedings by UK authorities.
Previous Competitive Appearance
Before this forthcoming boxing bout, Andrew Tate’s last competitive appearance was in December 2020, where he achieved victory against Cosmin Lingurar through a technical knockout in the second round. This victory was part of a notable series of matches in Romania during that year.
Statements on Leadership and Future Plans
In a video statement, Tate expressed confidence in his leadership of Misfits, asserting, “It wasn’t a hostile takeover but it was certainly planned,” and declared that he and his partner are committed to elevating the organization to a more prominent place in sports entertainment. “Given that I’m the largest name on the planet, if I’m going to fight under a promotion, it makes perfect business sense to do so with one I partly own,” he added during an interview, justifying his claim over KSI’s established enterprise.
KSI, whose real name is Olajide Olatunji, founded the Misfits promotion in 2021 and has participated in five fights since then. How Tate’s involvement will affect the promotion’s future and KSI’s legacy remains to be seen as the date of this intriguing matchup approaches.
